Who We Are
Ampsurf is a non-profit organization made up of amputees, veterans and friends and family of the disabled. We want to Promote, Inspire,Educate, and Rehabilitate people with disabilities. Especially our veteran heroes, through adaptive surfing and fun safe outdoor activities that everyone can participate in and enjoy.

Our Mission
One in five Americans struggle with a life-long disability. Nearly two million men and women have served our country in Iraq and Afghanistan. They are coming home looking for ways to feel whole again and to fit back in to normal life. Whether they are an amputee, visually impared, suffer from PTSD (post tramatic stress disroder), or have quadriplegia. Whether theyserved in WWII, Korea, Vietnam, the Gulf war, Iraq or Afghanistan. Whether they are a child of autism, or a young woman who has lost a limb to cancer, AmpSurf offers a unique program to bring the healing power of the ocean and adaptive surfing together for an experience that is both mentally and physically one of the best forms of rehabilitation on the planet. Our goal is simple, we want to help our disabled veterans, adults and children focus on their abilities not their disabilities. To do this we strive to Promote, Inspire, Educate and Rehabilitate these great Americans and the public by providing a quality program and the opportunity for the participants and volunteers to come together and feel the joy and healing of the ocean and surfing. For 8 years AmpSurf has been providing our Learn to Surf Clinics and we have served hundreds of our disabled veterans, adults and children who probably never would have had this experience if it hadn’t been for our program.

I am a volunteer with the NMCSD Surf Clinic that meets every Thursday at Del Mar Beach. I baecme involved after attendig the Operation Amped program at Camp Pendleton last August where I provided a large number of soft top surfboards from INT Softboard Technology.I feel fortunate that I have been working with Betty Michalewicz as part of a wonderful program that teaches surfing and provides a very positive outcome. I also feel fortunate that I have been able to borrow soft surfboards each week to bring to the Surf Clinic. The staff at INT has been very active in attendig sessions, observing, and designing surfboards that meet specific needs for folks with specific challenges. I would like to share what we have learned about design of special surfboards that offer performance and safety. I have been referred to Dana Cumming by Betty and would like to make contact. My cell phone is; (760) 814-4900Hope to her from you.Allen
