UPDATES-
We currently have 15 participants (Full-alternate list has been started) and 25 (45 needed) Volunteers signed up for this event, We only have 5 instructors signed up we need a minimum of 8, so if you know someone else who can help out please send them to our website to get signed up.

We are working on getting some rooms at the local hotels at a discount rate. once we get something locked in we will let you know. Please note that this clinic is the same weekend as the Pismo Beach Car Show, so rooms will be at a premium.

Coming North-
US-101 N
Take ramp toward PRICE STREET
Bear Right on PRICE ST
Turn Left on POMEROY AVE
Follow Pomeroy to PISMO BEACH PIER

Going South-
US-101 S
Take HINDS AVE/PRICE CYN RD exit
Turn Right on HINDS AVE
Turn Right on PRICE ST
Turn Left on POMEROY AVE
Follow Pomeroy to PISMO BEACH PIER

We will still be collecting toys for the program. If you would like to help out please bring a new unwrapped toy (under $10) to the event and deposit it into the collection bin. We will be doing this for all the events this year so if you forget to do it at this one you can do it at another event during the year. We are hoping that we can collect enough toys through the year to fill our new trailer.

Location: We will be located on the south side of the Pier in beautiful Pismo Beach. We will have a pop-up located up on the promenade south of the pier for sign in and information. We will have 1-2 pop-ups on the beach just south of the pier where dryland surf instruction will be given.

Parking: No parking will be provided for this event. If you wish to park on the pavement by the pier the cost is $8 for the day. Free parking is available in the dirt lot east of the paved parking lot.

Hotels: There are many Hotels in the Pismo Beach area. We are working on getting discounted rooms for our events. as those become available we will let you post them in the updates section of this page (above)


Clinic schedule:

Setup crew arrives* 7am
All other volunteers arrive* 7:30-7:45am
Volunteers briefing (all water staff must be present) 7:45-8:15
Participants arrive*
Meet & greet on the beach (suit up etc...)
8:00 -9:00am
Dry land instruction 9:00 -9:30am
In water surf instruction 9:30-11:30am
Free surf 11:30-12:30
Lunch & tear down 12:30-1:30

Goal: To encourage surfing among those with disabilities. We need at least 10 participants to attend this event. these will be disabled veterans, and local disabled with Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI), Spinal Cord Injury (SCI), Amputees, Blind etc.... We really want to reach out to these individuals and help them enjoy the rehabilitative power of the ocean and surfing.

Participants- Are encouraged to contact AmpSurf in advance to make sure all efforts can be made to accommodate his/her disability. Please sign-up online. or email us at participate@ampsurf.org
The clinic is free to participants though a small $50 deposit is required to reserve your spot. This deposit is refundable at the end of the clinic you sign up for. It is also refundable if you contact AmpSurf  two weeks prior of the clinic. Click here to make your deposit.
Your deposit can also be turned into a donation to the program if you desire. Donations are always appreciated. All donations will be used to help cover clinic fees, equipment, and transportation. Surfing instruction will be provided by trained surf instructors, and experienced surfers. These instructors will work with each individual to meet his/her needs and abilities.
