AmpSurf’s trained instructors, along with professional and local surfers will provide surf instruction for the  Learn to Surf Clinic.  The fun begins on Thursday, September 8th with a golf tourney then a Meet & Greet dinner at the Pismo Beach Moose Lodge.  Friday, September 9th will be the first day of surfing and Saturday, September 10th surf day opens with a special flag ceremony and guest speakers.  A Paddle Out will be held the morning of Sunday, September 11th south of the Pismo Pier followed by a Farewell Brunch at the Pismo Moose Lodge.  Participants will also enjoy  outdoor activities on the Central Coast and wonderful meals provided by our generous community. Ride-On Transportation will provide transport from lodging to all activities.

Some of our past participants and volunteers had this to say about their experience after learning to surf with AmpSurf:

“…I finally feel like I am able to do a sport again, after just about giving up on everything. I was very rewarding! Thanks again!” Wounded Warrior Andrew Mitchell

WELCOME TO AMPSURF

Mission

AmpSurf™ is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization established to Promote, Inspire, Educate, and Rehabilitate (PIER) all people with disabilities and their families through adaptive surfing and other outdoor activities.

Vision

All people with disabilities will experience the freedom of adaptive sports without limitations.

ampsurfWho We Serve

One in five Americans struggle with a life-long disability. Nearly two million men and women have served our country in Iraq and Afghanistan. They are coming home looking for ways to feel whole again and to fit back in to normal life. Whether they are an amputee, visually impaired, suffer from PTS (post traumatic stress), or have quadriplegia. Whether they served in WWII, Korea, Vietnam, the Gulf war, Iraq or Afghanistan.  Whether they are an autistic child or a young woman who has lost a limb to cancer, AmpSurf™ offers a unique program to bring the healing power of the ocean and adaptive surfing together for an experience that is both mentally and physically one of the best forms of rehabilitation on the planet.

Our goal is simple, we want to help our disabled veterans, adults and children focus on their abilities not their disabilities. To do this we strive to Promote, Inspire, Educate, and Rehabilitate (PIER™) these great Americans and the public by providing a quality program and the opportunity for the participants and volunteers to come together and feel the joy and healing of the ocean and surfing.  AmpSurf™ has provided our Learn to Surf Clinics to hundreds of our disabled veterans, adults and children who probably never would have had this experience if it hadn’t been for our program.

What We Do

For over a decade AmpSurf™ has been providing our Learn to Surf clinics to serve those who need us. We have served hundreds of our disabled veteran American heroes as well as disabled adults and children who probably never would have had this experience if it hadn’t been for our program.
